For years the Pomona Valley Division 13 of the California Retired Teachers Association has been trying to find a way to get help for teachers directly into the classroom. This year we think we have found a way. The web site iloveschools.com is a free matchmaking service for education. All the teacher has to do is register at this site and jot down what he/ she wants. We will be notified when a school we are monitoring has a request. We can look at the request and see if it something we can take care of.
ANOTHER LETTER:
Dear Mrs. Morrison,
Below is a copy of a most surprising email I've just now received! As you are cited as the contact person, may I trouble you to request that you, at your convenience, reply with verification that this email is accurate? It appears to be official, I but I would like to be certain that an error has not been made before I start jumping up and down!! My principal suggested that I registered at iLoveSchools - which I did, but in all honesty, I found it hard to believe that I would be privileged to be the recipient of the type of generosity that iLoveSchools reported. After all, I reasoned, an individual or party would have to possess a great deal of faith in me, a total stranger, to invest their capital in me - that type of faith I find to be in short supply 'these days.'
Thank you for you assistance,
Laurie Harris
